SCNV offers its members prime ice time on Monday evenings with a limited number of skaters per session. Once again SCNV will be hosting two Power Stroking sessions (see below) as well as a dedicated Theater On Ice session (8:25PM-9:05PM). For more information about Theater On Ice, please contact any member of the SCNV Board of Directors.

Power Stroking Classes

SCNV is once again hosting two Power Stroking sessions for the 2011-12 Season. The Power Stroking 1 Session (6:05PM-6:30PM) will be taught by Jill Smith. The Power Stroking 2 Session (7:10PM-7:35PM) will be taught by Lucy Galleher. Sessions are designed to accommodate all levels of skaters from the lowest level to the most experienced. Participants will be taught appropriate edge control, posture and body alignment as well as power and speed during the stroking sessions. This class is designed to improve quality of movement in tandem with strength, thereby enhancing overall speed in the most efficient way.
The fee for these classes covers the cost of the ice and the instructor. These sessions are not open to individual coaching.

Note: The actual number of pick-up spaces available at any day and time varies depending on additional subscriptions and actual attendance. Please check with session monitor for availability of pick-ups.

Pick-up Policy

SCNV Full Skating Members have priority for pick-up on:

any session with unassigned slots
empty slots on full sessions occurring on a week-to-week basis.

SCNV Associate Members also may pick up any session with remaining empty slots. There is no limit to the number of pick-ups for SCNV members. A skater who is not a member of SCNV may skate as a guest up to three times per skating season. Skaters picking up on Freestyle sessions must wait 10 minutes before entering the ice if the session is fully subscribed. Skaters must check in with the session monitor.
